An Artist Moves To Digital Marketing.

What inspired me to move toward digital marketing?

Who's The Boss

 It’s a cheesy answer, I promise lol…

“Who’s The Boss?”

Yes, the 80s rom-com sitcom with Judith Light and Tony Danza. I know, I’m dating myself —but hear me out.

Something was empowering about seeing a woman run her own advertising agency. She’d come home from the city after a long day just to do more work. She loved it, though; it was her passion. Advertising was woven into everything she did. Her success, her lifestyle—it all came from creativity and hustle. I was just as obsessed with the show as she was with being the best advertiser.

I knew I wanted to get into advertising. I’d spend hours learning how to do page layouts in Adobe, learning art programs, even creating my own mock-ads with Noxzema and Dove cutouts from a magazine. I wrote copy. I designed mock campaigns. I was in love with it all.

But like many of us, I got sidetracked. Well-meaning family members told me advertising was “too competitive,” “too hard.” So I followed other creative paths—some side hustles, some jobs—but I never forgot that spark.

Fast forward to now: we’re in a digital-first age, and I’ve found my way back.

This time, I’m diving in with confidence.

✨ Digital marketing has grown—and so have I.

I only wish someone had told me earlier how many creative ways there are to drive business through this field. During my digital marketing course, I rediscovered my love for storytelling, design, and strategy. And now? I'm excited to keep learning, creating, and building.

For anyone wondering if it’s too late to pivot back to what you love: it’s not. 💡
